佑季 Yuuki
東京都出身。アーティスト。東京藝術大学大学院 美術研究科在学中より伝統的な和の素材を再解釈した作品を国内外で発表。東京アサヒアートスクエア、別府現代芸術フェスティバル「混浴温泉世界」永久別府劇場でのパフォーマンス作品上演のほか、イタリア・トリエステの芸術祭で写真作品を展示、NYの彫刻庭園やドイツのルートヴィヒ美術館、フライブルク劇場、スペイン・マヨルカ島のミロ美術館、スウェーデンの舞踊博物館などで映像作品を上映。2012年より札幌と東京の２拠点生活を送る。
近年の映像作品に、日本の舞の最小限の動きから生まれた宇宙空間を意図した『peri』（スウェーデン、ポルトガル、セルビア、アメリカ、ブラジル、インド、トルコ、ベトナム、ドイツ、フランス、スロバキア、モルドバ、キプロス、チリ、ブルガリア、プエルトリコ、ブータン、アルゼンチンの国際映画祭で上映。ドイツ・ベルリンの国際映画祭でベスト・ダンス・ショートフィルム賞を受賞。フランス・カンヌ国際短編映画祭で最優秀実験映画賞にノミネート。スロバキアの映画祭「EUROPE MUSIC AWARD」で最優秀実験映画賞を受賞。トルコ・イスタンブールの映画祭でベスト・エクスペリメント賞受賞。ハンガリー・ブタペストの映画祭「Budapest Film Festival」で審査員特別賞受賞。イラン・東アゼルバイジャンの国際映画祭で「Best Experiment」受賞。ブータンの国際映画祭で「最優秀実験映画賞」受賞。2021〜2024年）、金魚と舞う旅『aquarium』（世界12カ国の国際映画祭で上映。 2013〜2019年）などがある。

Yuuki is an artist of traditional Japanese Kamigata dance, which embodies the minimum motion in the world, and further expresses through her own performance, photography and film.
She conveys contemporary images to the world through dances with Japanese fan and kimono. She started studying dance and tea ceremony in her childhood. She has also studied architecture, garden design and landscape at Tokyo University of the Arts.
In 2009 she performed her solo dance work Tears of Eos (movie, theater) in Asahi Art Square, Tokyo. In the Summer of 2012, her dance photography was exhibited in the video dance festival Wallpaper Dance in Trieste, Italy. That autumn, she completed a solo performance project Camellia. It was performed in the Beppu Contemporary Art Festival “Mixed Bathing World” in Japan.
In 2013 she made the dance film Aquarium with filmmaker Kei T. and musician. It was selected for The International Video Festival”Agite y Sirva” in Mexico, Festival International de Video Danse de Bourgogne in France, dança em foco in Brazil, El Espejo in Colombia, International Dance Film Festival Brussels, L’art difficile de filmer la danse in Belgium, Festival Internacional de VideoDanzaBA in Argentina, Dances with Camera in Poland, BANG Barcelona Videoart Festival. The piece has also been screened in Puebla, Mexico, Cinema Le Morvan in France in April, Bogota, Columbia in June, in Rio de Janeiro in August, and in Oaxaca, Mexico, at Bruxelles and Centro Cultural de la Memoria Haroldo Conti in Buenos Aires in September 2013. In April 2014 it was shown in Poznan, Poland and at La Casa Elizalde, Barcelona, Spain, Grounds For Sculpturein New Jersey, U.S.A in October 2014.In November 2015 it was screened at Centro Cultural de Espana de Santiago in Chile.It was showned at Miró Foundation in Palma de Mallorca in October 2016, at the State Theatre of Freiburg in April ,and Filmforum NRW in Museum Ludwig in May 2018,at the Seer Festival in Tehran,Iran in 2019.It was also broadcast at Pool Videodance Night, a special program of International videodance festival, “POOL” in Berlin, at the Berlin based art television “ikono TV” an organization with global reach across 30 countries.
In 2021 she made the dance film “peri”. It has been screened for Screen Dance Festival at Stockholm ,Sweden, Braga international Video Dance Festival at Portugal in April, Loud Soul Music Festival in Belgrade, Serbia in June, Xsection Dance and Science Film Festival in Boston, Mostra International Videodance Festival Sao Carlos in Brazil.It was screened at Kalakari Film Festival in India, Dance Camera Istanbul in Turkey, Mad Visions Film Festival in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, Cyprus International Film Festival in Cyprus, Silent Film Festival in Colorado, U.S.A., Serbest International Festival in Moldova, Republic of, MOVING VODY Festival in Varna, Bulgaria in 2022. It won a “Best Dance Short Film Award” in Kiez Berlin Film Festival in Germany, a nominee for “Best Experiment Film” Award in Cannes Shorts Film Festival, and “Best Experiment Video” award in “EUROPE MUSIC AWARD” Film Festival in Kosice,Slovakia.
